HELLO AND THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING CONTRIBUTING TO THE PUBLICATION OF MY NEW BOOK!
TIZZY
A NOVEL by Elena Azzoni
About the Book
Tizzy’s trying to keep her cool. It’s the 90s. She’s nineteen, fueled by caffeine, riot grrrl, and repression. She’s got a boyfriend, a job at the hip campus co-op, and a roommate who burns sage in the bathroom. But when her body starts to short-circuit, memories she’s spent years keeping at bay surge to the surface. To top it off, Tizzy finds herself drawn to TJ, her boyfriend’s butch best friend — all leather, swagger, and unexpected tenderness. With her nervous system lighting up in ways she can no longer ignore, Tizzy begins to realize she must face what she’s been running from. TIZZY is a fever dream of denial and desire, a coming-of-age novel in which the key to healing is feeling everything.
Publisher
RISE BOOKS x Simon & Schuster (audiobook + ebook + limited edition physical copies to start). RISE BOOKS is a hybrid publisher I’ve been working for. Having been published traditionally twice via Hachette, I know how painfully slowly the publishing world moves. I chose to publish via RISE because it’s taken me 30 years to write this book, and I don’t want to wait another 3 to 5.

Praise for Elena’s Prior Work
"Frank, funny and revealing of relations between–and among–the sexes." – Kirkus Reviews
“A Year Straight is a hilarious, engrossing page-turner that presents a whole new twist on the Manhattan dating scene. Azzoni’s light, engaging voice made me pine for my young New York single days. A new perspective and great read.” – Katie Crouch, New York Times bestselling author, Girls in Trucks
“Azzoni’s conversational writing catches you in the first few paragraphs…you feel like a friend on the other end of a phone call.” – BUST Magazine
Why give?
I have yet to encounter a person who hasn’t at one time felt like a foreigner in their own skin. We are all lugging our stories around, and I have found, for myself, and for others, it can be especially hard for girls to grow into women who are at home in their body.
My wish is that this book will help others to see there is hope for healing, and for being more present in our lives. And let’s not forget to laugh along the way!
“The greatest sources of our suffering are the lies we tell ourselves.”
—Bessel van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score
Mary, Beadie, and me in a tizzy while working on the screen adaptation.
